BRICKSTORY: Firax was available in just two sets: 8189 Magma Mech (available at the Brickstory showroom with dozens of other Mechs) and 8191 Lavatraz. These sets were part of the final wave of the Power Miners theme which ran from 2009 to 2010. Power Miners was follow-up theme to the Rock Raiders sets that ran from 1999 to 2000 as part of the broader LEGO concept of “Underground” play. Firax is one of eight “Rock Monsters”; the others being Boulderax, Combustix, Firox, Glaciator, Infernox, Meltrox, and Sulfurix (all to be on display in the Brickstory showroom). There are also larger Rock Monsters: Eruptorr, Geolix, and Tremorox. The great thing about these Rock Monsters is that they can hold crystals inside their bellies; just open their large mouth and the crystal element goes right inside. Super cool. Rock Monsters are always a fan favorite. |
