  3. Mech must be no larger than 48 x 48 studs wide (15” baseplate) but can be any height
  4. Mech should be able to articulate in various ways (able to move it’s arms, legs, head in some direction)

Entrants must bring their model and completed entry form to the store prior to Friday, November 22, 2019, 5PM.  Submissions will be photographed and assigned a ticket number when you pay your entry fee. After the contest, winners will be displayed at the store (with the owner’s permission) along with other entries, as space permits.

: There will be two age categories:

Over 12 (born on or after October 1, 2006)

: Entries will be judged by Bricknowlogy staff on the following criteria:

DESIGN: The overall look of the Mech including appearance, color scheme, stance, identification of purpose (combat vs. construction), and general appeal as a Mech.

FUNCTIONALITY: How well does the Mech meet the guidelines and description including its primary purpose (combat vs. construction), articulation / ability to be posed, Minifigure access, and any additional FEATURES or abilities it might have (e.g. missiles, a claw, crane, sword, propulsion, etc.)

CREATIVITY: How unique is the concept, design, and construction of the Mech, including the use of special elements in various ways, specific building techniques, and originality of the design (not too close to a LEGO set or other model).

ENGINEERING: How well do the DESIGN and FUNCTIONALITY work together to make the Mech fun and easy to be used for play; how well does the Mech perform all of its functions and abilities. Any unique or interesting combinations of elements to achieve features and functions.

AGE FACTOR: Although there are two distinct age categories, the entrant’s age will still be considered when judging submissions within that category.

It sounds a lot more complicated than it is… just think of what a really cool Mech might look like in your mind, maybe draw a few sketches, collect your LEGO pieces and have some FUN!!  And don’t rush… there’s plenty of time…  the more you build, tear down, and rebuild, the better it will get – and the better you will get.  By submitting your entry, you allow Bricknowlogy the right to use your ideas and entry photos in various ways.  We will also be sharing the winner’s names and final submission directly with The LEGO Group!!  Employees and their extended families are barred from participation – and all decisions are final.  We can’t offer much design help at the store because we want it to come from you, but we’re always here to offer some feedback and thoughts along the way…  Build Your Mind
